In our communities, thousands of young people are alone and unsupervised once school is done for the day. During this time, youth are at a higher risk of experimenting with drugs, which makes them more likely to join gangs and fall into other negative behaviors that can jeopardize their future.
With the help of our community partners, we provide children with a safe and nurturing environment to go to after school.

Alberta’s Lillie Inc. was founded by Marcella Simmons to provide affordable housing to single mothers.
Having been raised in a single parent household with both grandmothers supporting her mom throughout her childhood, Marcella knows first-hand the burden that mothers endure when fathers are absent from the home.
Alberta’s Lillie strives to partner with other non-profit organizations and government agencies to ensure these mothers are given the opportunity to raise their children in safe and loving homes. As well as provide enhanced job skills training for the under-employed as well as training for steps towards home-ownership and sustainability for those who desire to own their home.
Every person has dignity and potential. But nearly 1 in 3 American adults has a criminal record, which limits their access to housing, employment, and education.
The brokenness that lands men and women in prison, left unaddressed, perpetuates a cycle of destructive thinking and behaviors. Founded on the beliefs of human dignity and redemption, Alberta’s Lillie seeks to disrupt this cycle. Using targeted curriculum, compassionate coaches, and restorative community, participants develop and practice real life based values of good citizenship. Before release, participants are prepared to take their places as productive and positive contributors to their communities inside and outside of prison.
Alberta’s Lillie in partnership private, local and federal partners provides job skills to ensure re-entry into the community is proven successful.
